Ever since her childhood, Rozelle’s dream was to be a farmer’s wife. Her two children and her own business which she operates from their farm, would complete this dream. At 30 her dream became reality. She was born in Beaufort-West . She matriculated in 1991 and decided on studying education afterwards. Mathematics was her passion, but she decided that it was time to spend more time with her husband and children.
Eight years ago, Rozelle decided to trade her classroom for a paintbrush and canvas, and she hasn’t looked back since. She has no official artistic training and paints with her heart – her artworks are realistic and reflect her love for farm life, whilst also portraying serenity. Every artwork is unique because of the fact that she doesn’t paint according to a specific theme. She is a perfectionist and believes that the detail of every artwork creates a sense of uniqueness. Art is her passion, and it is therefore important that this is apparent every time someone looks at one of her artworks. She paints in oil and spends every moment with her family in her spare time.
Rozelle is one of South Africa’s favorite artists, enchanting the artlover with her beautiful pieces. She has reached many milestones, of which the following are only a few of many:
- Article in ‘Tuin Paleis’ March 2007
- New Signature – Alice Art 2007 (300 applications of which only 12 were approved)
- Interviews on Kyknet’s “Fiesta”
- Article in ‘Garden’ 2009
- She has been approached many a time by Radio Kragbron to speak to listeners about her career.
